Bird's Eye

Bird's eye: No, not Battered Cod Pieces, but avian ocular equipment.

What is going on with birds? The have an eye one either side of their head and so deny themselves true stereo vision, which would seem foolish. However they do get a good view of any predators nearby, which would seem wise.

I guess this lack of stereo vision is why chickens jerk their head in that distinctive back and forth  motion as they walk, like they are listening to particularly catchy Bhangra. Anyway, I digress. I found this guy hiding in the barn on the worlds largest nest.

Notice how, wherever you stand, it seems that the bird is looking at you in particular. Why is that? Guilt?
