Here's a top tip. If you go into the tropical rain forest, be careful when you take your camera out of your bag. It may not seem like it, but relative to 35 degrees and 100% humidity, your camera is freezing cold. It will get covered in condensation immediately. Harrumph. Anyway, what do you think of these green things? They are about a meter across BTW.  What fantastic design, all that folding.

It seems we are gradually selling England by the pound. We privatised the utilities years ago and they are now in the hands of Johnny Foreigner (which must be a good idea, or we wouldn't have allowed it). The Chinese seem to own everything that is still worth anything. Now I suspect we are selling all the soil inch by inch and exporting it through the channel tunnel.  What happens when they call in all the loans?  Come back in twenty years and we will all be living in cardboard and begging on the streets.

Back in the 1960s we were still proud of our heritage. We were proud of Britain and all she could produce. If a thing came from Japan then it was probably cheap and inferior, whereas Made in England was an assurance of dependability. Here are a pair of 27B gears that I bought on eBay this week.  Aren't they splendid? They are a credit to the Nation and her Empire. Boys grew to be sturdy and reliable men in the company of the most excellent Meccano. Fear not dear reader. There are still places there Britain is proud to fly the flag. Johnny Foreigner may have captured all the manufacturing markets but we still have our strengths.

Er, yes it was very nice.  What?  Yes, I did leave some for you....

Hermione and Phillip left as soon as they could.  The party was not turning out quite as they expected.

Sometimes the pressure gets too much. Sometimes I just have to stop for a nice cup of tea and a biscuit. Maybe even a lie down and a doze. Mmm. Lovely.
